The ADRA Op Shop Maida Vale are looking for a new Op Shop Manager to continue and develop a centre of influence in the local community in conjunction with the ADRA Community Centre Maida Vale. The ADRA Op Shop Maida Vale currently operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 1pm. Like all of our ADRA Op Shops, Maida Vale has a welfare arm that assists the disadvantaged in the community.

This is a volunteer role. We a looking for a person with retail or business experience, relates well with people, has the ability to lead and delegate, and has a passionate heart to minister to those in need. We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated person with the ability to communicate and work with the Local Management Committee. This position is best suited to someone with a ‘can do’ attitude and adaptability. Basic computing skills and the willingness to be trained in ADRA’s systems is essential. A current National Police and Criminal History Check is required. Legitimate business expenses will be reimbursed as per our volunteer policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create a welcoming, positive environment for volunteers to contribute to the community.

2. Responsible for the recruitment, induction and conduct of Op Shop volunteers. This may include discipline of volunteers who breach ADRA’s Code of Conduct.

3. Responsible for maintaining all standards, policies, procedures, and codes set out in the ADRA Australia Op Shop Operational manual.

4. Ensure the shop is clean and adequately maintained.

5. Ensure the ADRA Op Shop is open during the advertised hours.

6. Attend and provide reports to LMC meetings.

7. Attend ADRA training events appropriate for the Op Shop, team or personal management skills, usually facilitated through Zoom.

8. Manage supplies (donations and purchased resources) for the effective operation of the shop.

9. Support and mediate on behalf of clients and staff where necessary.

10. Interview and arrange referrals where required and provide appropriate assistance and support to people in need.

Administration

11. Manage volunteers through Salesforce cloud-based platform e.g., recruitment, induction, managing personal information. Ensure that all volunteers sign up at www.adra.org.au/volunteer.

12. Ensure daily cash takings are banked regularly.

13. Liaise with the National Retail Manager and Conference ADRA Director with the day to day running of the Op Shop. Workplace Health and Safety.

14. Manage WHS monitoring by using Safety Navigator cloud-based platform.

15. Ensure that quarterly inspections are completed on Safety Navigator.

16. Log any incidents on Safety Navigator, and then inform the National Retail Manager.
